CLS is looking for a part-time (~10 hours per week) Manager of Capacity Building & Data (MCBD) to work on deliverables and projects our clients need. This person will conduct audits of client operational systems, research tools, systems, & resources for clients, draft recommendation reports, collect & analyze data, and tackle a variety of client-facing and behind-the-scenes tasks that will allow CLS to serve our client organizations better as they serve their communities. Some internal administrative tasks will also be assigned as needed to support CLS’ operations.

CL Strategic LLC (CLS) is a small, fast-growing consulting firm providing strategic planning, grant fundraising, and capacity building support for nonprofit organizations in Washington State. We work with organizations across multiple fields, including substance use & mental health treatment, housing & homelessness, racial & economic justice, voting rights, equitable public education, and arts & culture. Chris Langeler, the founder & principal consultant, has a decade of leadership experience in the nonprofit sector of WA State and specialized training in facilitation, strategic planning, and organizational development. Work Schedule
This position will be almost entirely remote with very occasional (optional) opportunities for in-person meetings and work events. Expected workload is 10 hours per week with the possibility of expansion in the future. Graduate students with an interest in consulting, nonprofit management, or business development are welcomed to apply. The position can be structured as a “paid internship” to fulfill graduate academic requirements. If more than 40 hours of client-facing work are called for in a given month, MCBD will have the option to "opt in" to additional hours for that month OR hold a "cap" of 40 hours if other constraints limit their time.
Responsibilities

Act as the lead project manager for 3-4 clients with contracts that require capacity-building, operations, and data services

Provide support on other CLS client projects (ex. Grant writing, strategic planning) as needed

Online research to collect information on best practices, tools, resources, and opportunities for clients

Collecting & analyzing data from clients & stakeholders

Other administrative tasks as assigned
Compensation
This position is W2 a part-time, non-exempt, hourly position. Pay rate, subject to standard tax and other withholdings and deductions, is $42 per hour and will be paid every two weeks. Estimated regular pay, assuming 40 hours of work in a given month, will be approximately $1600 per month. After 3-months of employment, MCBD will also receive an additional quarterly “profit-sharing bonus” that is estimated to range from $500-$1000 depending on CLS profitability in a given quarter.
Desired Qualifications

Work experience in the nonprofit sector, particularly in operations, finance, HR, or program management

Familiarity with software tools commonly used by nonprofits for fundraising, operations, finance, and project management

A background in data collection & analysis

Strong writing skills, including excellent attention to detail

Experience working independently in a remote environment

Adept at online + virtual workplace tools and systems, such as Asana (project management), Slack (internal communications), Google Suite (Gmail/Drive/Calendar), Zoom (video conferencing)

An ability to work efficiently without sacrificing accuracy, thoroughness, or quality on detailed tasks
